Modern e-cigs have come leaps and bounds from the first versions; adapting the design and structure of the device to adopt better technology and keep up to date with the latest trends. From a standard e-cig in the modern day you can expect a slim, stylish design hosting a smaller sized battery, providing power to a cartridge/cartomizer or clearomizer found on the tip or base of the device.
Contents of a Starter Kit
When purchasing an e-cig it will more than likely come in a starter kit, providing spare components and hardware to ensure you have a good couple of weeks of vaping before having to purchase more. Starter kits would come in all different shapes and sizes, with different quantities of cartomizers and batteries. Here are the most common components found in starter kits, so you know what to look for and what they do:
- E-Cig Battery – The battery will come in all shapes and sizes, typically within a range of 150mAh to 1500mAh. The lower end of batteries normally belongs to e-cig cigarette look-a-likes which require much less power to operate, whereas the more powerful batteries will be found on clearomizer e-cigs. Some batteries will come with a “pull to activate” design for smaller e-cigs, others with a “button hold” for the more powerful e-cigs.
- Cartridge/Cartomizer – As mentioned previously, cartridges or cartomizers are found on the smaller “cigarette look-a-like” e-cigs. Coming pre-loaded with juice, these cartridges give the user an extremely simple and easier to use method to refill and get there device back in use. Some cartridges can be refilled by removing the seal on the bottom. • Clearomizers – Located on the more powerful e-cigs, clearomizers give the users the ability to refill their device when required. Hosting a more powerful atomizer with a lower resistance, clearomizer e-cigs use more power, resulting in more vapor production. Typically, clearomizer e-cigs give you a lot more choice when it comes to the battery you’re using; however, it’s advised to only use the batteries provided with the starter kit.
- Extra Components – You’ll find a long list of additional components in your starter kit, this will normally include extra cartridges/cartomizers or clearomizers, extra batteries, tips and other spares.
E-Cig starter kits come in many different variations, however they will always include one of the two e-cig designs listed above. Compared to the more common e-liquid vapes, e-cigs provide a lower power alternative to vape e-liquids, with a lot less maintenance required to keep the device working, they’re extremely common amongst communities that like a quick and easy vaping experience. When using an e-cig for the first time, you can expect a nice flavour with a low vapor production and a stronger hit on the throat.
Why Buy a Kit?
Our kits don’t break the bank, but you’ll still find high-quality pieces in any kit you choose. The greatest part about buying a kit is that you will receive all the necessary parts you need for your first e-cig at a cheaper price than if you purchased all the parts separately. The only parts you will need to replace on a regular basis are the cartridge/juice and the coils on the inside of the e-cig. Both of these components run fairly cheap, and you can even score a deal on these parts if bought in bulk.
What to Look for in an eCig Starter Kit:
Different e-cigs will come with different levels of power, battery life, and nicotine strength. Higher doesn’t always mean better for any of these qualities, but it will depend more on user preference to determine which style and model is best. Lower and higher-powered e-cigs are compatible with different types of e-liquids and atomizers. If you buy a kit, you won’t have to worry about the atomizer being compatible, but make sure the type of juice you are buying will work well with the power strength of the e-cig. Too low and you won’t produce enough vapor. Too high, and you may experience a burnt taste with each puff. A typical e-cig battery will last 2 hours after charging. For users who vape infrequently, this is an acceptable amount of time to hold a charge. Others may want to choose a kit that comes with two or more devices, extra batteries, or a portable charging cord to ensure the device is always ready to go. Lastly, nicotine strength is based on personal preference, and many kits allow you to choose the strength that comes in the juice included in the kit.
