Why Do People Vape? The Different Reasons to Vape
Despite the fast-growing popularity of e-cigarettes, many people still wonder: Why do people vape?
Well, the reason why one person vapes may be very different from another person’s reasons. However, there are a couple common reasons why people might vape, so take a look at each of them.
An Alternative to Smoking/Nicotine Fix
This is the most common reason why someone would turn to vaping. Science has yet to answer whether vapor cigarettes help people quit smoking or not, and whether or not they are safer than the traditional cigarettes; still, many ex-smokers switch to vaping because they believe that it is a better, healthier way to get their nicotine fix.
In fact, there are several reasons why people prefer electronic cigarettes over other methods of nicotine intake such as patches and gums.
First of all, several pieces of research and scientific studies have indicated that e-cigs are considerably less hazardous than the traditional tobacco cigarettes because they don’t contain tar or any of the dozens of carcinogens found in tobacco.
Likewise, electronic cigarettes are very similar to cigarettes or cigars as they offer an extremely similar sensation as smoking, have soft chewable tips like cigarettes, give a similar throat hit as well as lung hit, contain nicotine, are easy to use, and require minimal maintenance.
Vaping as a Medicinal and Relaxation Therapy
The second most common reason why people vape is for medicinal purposes. People who use medical marijuana (where it’s legal), say that vaping herbs offers a better, crisper taste since there is no combustion involved. Many herbalists use marijuana vaporizers for minimizing medical conditions and symptoms including chronic pain, migraines, chemotherapy recovery, and more.
Cloud chasing is a competitive sport that is growing in popularity among vaping enthusiasts. Vapers use highly powerful vape mods with extremely low resistance coils and special e-liquids with one goal: to produce the biggest, thickest and baddest plumes of vapor.
When the car was invented, nobody imaged of Formula One racing; likewise, the people who invented e-cigarettes did not have cloud chasing in mind. However, some adventurous souls have taken it to the next level, and cloud chasing is becoming very popular in the U.S.
Like many other popular phenomena, vaping has developed into a lifestyle. From t-shirts to hats to posters, you can find pretty much anything with a stylish logo of an e-cig manufacturer on it.
There are special bars and vape shops where people gather to vape together, share their collections and creations such as mechanical mods. Vapers are also active online, and you can find several groups and online communities of vaping enthusiasts.
Now you know the main reasons why a person would vape, but science has yet to answer many important questions. On top of that, vaping rules and regulations are pretty ambiguous currently. However, if you don’t smoke, please do not start to vape, because it does contain nicotine which can be addictive.
